Der Golem

Fantômas did this great album back in 2001 were they perform cover versions of popular movie themes like Cape Fear, The Omen, Vendetta, and others. This is a video from their cover of Der Golem, a great old German silent horror film made in 1915. The video uses clips from the film. Some of you might remember the Golem from the Simpson Treehouse of Horror.

Check out what Fantômas and Mike Patton are all about at the website IPECAC Recordings!

Yesh! On the sub of old silent films, there isn't much posted or what I can find about the lost Turkish Dracula film. Someone has to have that somewhere!

Considering this one was made in 1953 and is a "talkie" I'm assuming it isn't the one your talking about.

I found a little info on the first 3 films made on the subject. No reference to one made in Turkey other than that one.

1920 - Dracula, the first film based on the novel, is made in Russia. No copy has survived.

1921 - Hungarian filmmakers produce a version of Dracula.

1922 - Nosferatu, a German made silent film produced by Prana Films, is the third attempt to film Dracula.

If you manage to track it down let us know, we'll keep our eye's open as well.

Cheers!
